The TON Foundation has unveiled Tolk 1.0, a dedicated programming language designed to simplify and optimize smart contract creation on the TON network. The new language promises to reduce gas costs by up to 40% compared to FunC, addressing a critical pain point for developers.

Tolk's release follows TON's recent shift to exclusivity, mandating the use of its native token and in-app Stars on Telegram. The foundation aims to capitalize on Telegram's massive user base to attract more developers to its ecosystem.

'This is a turning point for TON developers,' said Anatoly Makosov, Core Developer at TON Core. The language's syntax is tailored to TON's unique asynchronous actor model, setting a new standard for smart contract development on the network.
